On Tuesday 28 November 2023, the EL EU OHQ hosted the 2023 Annual European Union (EU) Commanders’ Conference.
Lieutenant General Michiel van der LAAN, the Director General of the European Union Military Staff (DG EUMS) and Director of MPCC (Military Planning and Conduct Capability) was welcomed by the Commander of the Hellenic First Army / EU OHQ Lieutenant General Ioannis TSIOPLOS.

The main theme of the conference was the “Enhancing the Network – Building of the European Headquarters” and the way ahead to foster the relations and further boost the cooperation between the European Headquarters. It was also discussed the Strategic Compass, as an ambitious path to improving the EU’s security and Defence capabilities, focusing on the objective of the successful development and eventual potential deployment of the EU Rapid Deployment Capacity (RDC).
