What is CLOSE PROTECTION? It can be defined as the joint transit of one or more ASPIDES warships and one or more merchant/commercial vessels on the basis of the warships’ task to deter and intercept attacks, as provided in EUNAVFOR Operation ASPIDES’ mandate.
