On 28 June 2023, the Commander of the Hellenic EU ΟΗQ Lieutenant General Ioannis Tsioplos attended the change of command ceremony of the European Union Military Staff (EUMS) Director-General and the Military Planning and Conduct Capability (MPCC) Director.
In the presence of the High Representative/Vice President (HR/VP) Josep Borrell, Lieutenant General Michiel van der Laan took over as Director General European Union Military Staff (DG EUMS) and Director Military Planning and Conduct Capability (Dir MPCC), from Vice Admiral Hervé Bléjean. During the ceremony, the HR/VP presented Vice Admiral Hervé Bléjean with the EU Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) medal for Extraordinary Meritorious Service.
