HELBROC Battlegroup (BG) was organized with Hellas as Framework Nation and Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus as Participating Νations, hence the acronym HELBROC. Τhe Technical Agreement was signed by the Ministers of Defense of the nations on November 13th 2006 for the initiation of HELBROC BG package. In 2007, it was decided by Hellenic National Defense General Staff that 71 Air Mobile Brigade’s HQ would consist the EU FHQ of HELBROC.
From 2011 Ukraine participates as “third country”, (non EU member), followed by the Republic of Serbia in 2017 and the Republic of North Macedonia in 2022. For this reason their flags are also placed on the top of our insignia. However, the original name HELBROC remained the same, for historical reasons.
